Shamima Muslim

is Deputy Presidential Spokesperson for John Dramani Mahama, the President of Ghana. She is Founder and former Convener of the Alliance for Women in Media Africa (AWMA), She is a distinguished award-winning Broadcast Journalist formerly with Citi fm and Metro TV and co-host of the 2012 Vice-Presidential debate. Shamima is also a Development Communication professional.

Shamima was one of two Ghanaian activists to speak and introduce US Vice President Kamala Harris during her historic address to the youth of the African Continent at the Black Star Square in Accra Ghana in March 2023. She is also the 2010-pioneering alumnus of President Barack Obama’s Young African Leaders Initiative.

Shamima is a passionate advocate for Women, Youth and marginalized groups.
